Keynote Speaker

Three keynote speakers kick off this year's EFYE!

Dr Johanna Pirker, Assistant professor, software engineer, and researcher at the Institute of Interactive Systemsand Data Science at Graz University of Technology, will kick off the conference with her keynote “Let’s Welcome First Year Students in the Metaverse”. In this talk you will dive into the world of video games and learn about their potential to welcome first year students in new communities.

The second keynote will be held by Dr Maria Keplinger, Federal Ministry Republic of Austria Education Science and Research. She will give you an insight into the Austrian Strategy on the Social Dimension of Higher Education and highlight its 2 fields of action: raising quotas for underrepresented groups and improving study conditions for groups with special needs. The third keynote speaker will be announced shortly.

Well known in the EFYE Community is our third key note speaker, Dr Diane Nutt. The independent higher education consultant invites you in her keynote to take a ride on the European First Year Experience ‘Train’ to reflect on the wealth of experience from over 15+ years of EFYE conferences.
