Submission guidelines

Your Submission

Please note the exact requirements for your submission(s) below and assign your contribution to the correct topic and session type. An email will confirm your submission(s) that we have received. 

Selection Process

The EFYE Commission will select the contributions for EFYE 2022. You will be notified as soon as possible if your submission is among the selected entries. Until then, please direct any questions to efye@tugraz.at

Re-Submission

In case you need to make any changes to an already submitted contribution, use the box “Re-Submission” in the form (possible until November 26). The last submitted version will be included in the selection process.

General Components

  • Conference Topic: Assign your submission to one of the conference topics.
  • Session Type: Choose one of the four offered session types and note the requirements for a successful submission.
  • Session Title: max. 70 characters incl. spaces
  • Detailed Summary: max. 3.000 characters incl. spaces
    Describe the initiative and your rationale and purpose for adopting it. 
  • Session Abstract: max. 1.200 characters incl. spaces
    Please provide an abstract of your proposed session. This abstract will be used as the description for the session in the conference program, if accepted.
  • Detailed Session Description: max. 2.000 characters incl. spaces
    Please provide details on your session structure and applied methods / presentation techniques.

Workshop

Show & Tell

Poster

 Paper Session Details:

  • 20 minutes presentation plus 10 minutes for questions & answers.
  • Paper can be research based or evaluated practice.
  • Goals: share results of implemented measures or strategies still in theory.

Successful Paper Session Submissions must clearly define the following:

  • Research questions.
  • Theoretical or practical background.
  • Approach/methodology used.
  • Brief analysis of results or outcomes and conclusions.
  • Relevance to conference topics.

Workshop Session Details:

  • 60 minutes interactive workshop session.
  • Participants work on a common topic aided by one or more workshop leaders.
  • Goals: share and develop knowledge, solutions to problems or effective practices and foster interaction among participants.

Successful Workshop Session Submissions must clearly define the following:

  • Workshop method.
  • Workshop structure (at least 50% of the session should have an interactive discussion component).
  • Workshop strategies.
  • Workshop goals and how they will be achieved, e.g. brainstorming sessions.
  • Covered topics and their relevance for the conference topics.
  • Expected workshop results for the participants.

Show & Tell Session Details:

  • Sessions structure
    • 20 minutes (4 presenters, 5 minutes each)
    • 20 minutes for viewing the presentations
    • 10-minutes plenary discussion
  • Show & Tell session will be moderated to keep on schedule.
  • Goals: share initiative or project and illustrate results for participants through visual materials

Successful Show & Tell Session Submission must clearly define the following:

  • Presentation formats to be in analog or digital form or a combination of these (video, animation, poster, handout, etc.).
  • Description of the presentation formats on site including required infrastructure (billboards, exhibition space, beamer, etc.).
  • Relevance to conference topics.

 Poster Session Details:

  • A1 format in portrait orientation.
  • Poster presentations can address research, evaluation, policy, or practice and may be evidence-based with outcomes.
  • Goals: share initiative or project and illustrate results for participants through visual materials.

Successful Poster Session Submissions must clearly define the following:

  • Addressed topic and its relevance to the conference topics.
  • Solution approach.
  • Anticipated results or conclusions.
